Looks like somehow someone got some pictures of the upcoming T-Mobile G1. I’m not a big fan of the white, but as far as the look of it, I’m still liking where it’s going. Along with these, I also came across a list of specifications. Not sure where these are coming from, AndroidGuys.com simply states that they are from “various places,” whatever the hell that means.

Anyways, here’s the list of specs that they have currently:

  • 528Mhz Qualcomm 7201 processor
  • Data kit for USB connectivity in the box
  • 128MB Internal RAM
  • 256MB Internal ROM
  • 1GB MicroSD card
  • 5 Row QWERTY keypad
  • Trackball
  • Dedicated camera button
  • 3.1MP camera (no flash) 2048 x 1536
  • Video playback files - H.264, streaming, 3GPP, MPEG4, and Codec 3GP
  • Dedicated YouTube Player
  • Audio playback files - MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, MPEG4, WAV, MIDI, REAL AUDIO, OGG
  • Wallpaper supports JPG, BMP, PNG, and GIF
  • Speakerphone (mono, natch)
  • Ringtones (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA)
  • HTTP, WAP Push, xHTML
  • Bluetooth (class 1)
  • Picture Caller ID
  • SMS and MMS support (Take that Apple!)
  • POP, IMAP, and SMTP, AOL, and GMAIL email
  • AIM, MSN, YAHOO, and GTALK messaging
  • Quad Band (850, 900, 1800, 1900)
  • 3G
  • 802.11b & 802.11g
  • UMTS (1,4), HSDPA, SUPL
  • 1150mAh battery
  • Screen size is 3.17″ with HVGA (480 x 320)
  • Handset 117 x 55 x 16mm
  • 5.6 oz weight
  • Sync capable with Google Calendar
  • Downloadable content via Android Marketplace
  • Google Streetview with built-in compass

Notably missing is GPS… but I’ve been seeing a lot about the upcoming Android Market, which will be very cool.

And, in case you weren’t one of the cool kids in the know, the little angled piece at the bottom of the phone is now called a “kicktail,” and the sliding screen to get to the keyboard is called an “arc slider screen.” Neato.

Leaked T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream) Design

After doing some Googling on when this new T-Mobile phone is coming out, I came across this:

And just think, I’ll get to advertise T-Mobile, HTC, and Google while I’m chatting it up. Logofest 2008, slapped right on the side of my face while Sarah and I debate what to eat for dinner. Can’t wait!

All jokes aside, I really like the design of this phone. I was never a fan of not having a physical keyboard (such as the iPhone). This one looks nice and big, like the ones on the Sidekicks. My little HTC Dash has one, but it’s pretty small. It gets the job done pretty well, but I do end up mistyping things a lot.

Looks like the screen swings out to me as well… or else they were attempting to draw some sort of a smiley face on the back, and forgot the eyes. Maybe it flips around all fancy-style like a Sidekick, or can be rotated around while you’re using it? Either way… I’m ready to buy one of these.
