You are on your way to being yet another disappointment in the 2008 hurricane season. You were heading right towards the east coast of Florida, right where you were supposed to go. Now you’re just going to turn left at the last minute, and hit Cuba. They don’t want more storms.

Are these people for real? Apparently now we need some way for the flight attendants on a flight to monitor if there is porn playing on someone’s laptop? Do they think this is going to happen a lot? I mean… I can’t really see that you’re sitting in a jam packed airplane… and then an awesome idea pops into your head, “I SURE COULD GO FOR SOME INTERNET PORN RIGHT NOW!”

I know there are plenty of stupid people around, but this crosses the line into straight common sense. Like, most people understand it’s not OK to grab a 1980s boombox playing Hall & Oates “Private Eyes” on volume 11, strip off all of your clothes, and go run around in circles in a busy intersection. Just because “Private Eyes” is a totally bad ass song, it doesn’t mean it’s cool to rock out to it naked in the middle of the street. I think this porn-on-a-plane situation is the same thing.

And then when the lady brings up her autistic child… WTF does that have to do with anything? I guess it’s worse for an autistic child to see porn than any other child? This ridiculous topic on CNN has nothing to do with handicapped children, yet she has to throw it in there somehow. Get a life, lady.

Looks pretty cool, right? That’s what I originally thought, until I remembered that every other car manufacturer is doing the same thing. We’ll take our semi-sports car, find its design from 30 years ago, round the edges a little, throw a new engine in it, and call it a new one. Sure, this appeals to a lot of people… I mean, look at the new Mustangs. You see those things all over the place. I’m sure Ford is making a killing with them. I’m sure it gives 40-some year olds their “youthful exuberance” back in some way. But I’m ready for a new car that isn’t based on an old model. And something that isn’t going to cost $100 to fill up in a couple years.

Which brings me to another topic, the Chevy Volt. “Doesn’t use a drop of gas…” Sounds good. “Wait… doesn’t use a drop of gas until you drive it 40 miles.” WTF is that about? Somebody make me a true electric car, dammit! Not a hybrid… not something that will sort of work on electricity for a few miles. And definitely not anything that looks like a Toyota Prius… at least the Volt has its looks going for it.

It still amazes me that 15 or 20 years ago, we had Hondas, Volkswagens, etc. that would get nearly 50mpg. Take the 88-91 Honda CRX HF for example. 41mpg city/50mpg highway. Now, automobile manufacturers think anything that gets 25mpg on the highway is better than the second coming of Jesus.

I guess I’ll stick to my Prelude… until some electric powered car that will turn into a giant fire breathing robot at the push of a button comes along. 2014 Honda Facemelter 6000, maybe?

I mean seriously, you’re not even close to hitting southeastern Florida. Hurricanes equal days off of work. Please make a sharp right turn within the next two days.

And just think, I’ll get to advertise T-Mobile, HTC, and Google while I’m chatting it up. Logofest 2008, slapped right on the side of my face while Sarah and I debate what to eat for dinner. Can’t wait!

All jokes aside, I really like the design of this phone. I was never a fan of not having a physical keyboard (such as the iPhone). This one looks nice and big, like the ones on the Sidekicks. My little HTC Dash has one, but it’s pretty small. It gets the job done pretty well, but I do end up mistyping things a lot.

Looks like the screen swings out to me as well… or else they were attempting to draw some sort of a smiley face on the back, and forgot the eyes. Maybe it flips around all fancy-style like a Sidekick, or can be rotated around while you’re using it? Either way… I’m ready to buy one of these.

Android looks pretty sweet… and since I’m due for an upgrade, I figure I’ll try it out and see how it works. From the videos I’ve seen, looks to be just as capable as an iPhone.  I really just want something a little better than Windows Mobile.  Seems to me that Microsoft isn’t trying very hard in that department.

Still need to set up categories, and a lot of other things on the backend of Wordpress.  Also, the gallery plugin that I found seems really nice… something I could keep around to show off vacation pics and stuff.  I’ll have to get some more up there.

Anyways, it’s almost done, so keep checking back to see if i’ve added anything new.  It’s getting there.
